Last Harvest 9/20

Today was our last harvest; I am amazed at how much produce came from the garden this year. The cucumbers, green beans, zinnias, and strawberries were all growing straight through the fences! Thank you to all the community members for making this a successful harvest season.

We had a smaller crowd today, but still a solid group of people that helped harvest whatever was leftover. Our staff visitor shout outs for the day are Lauren and Steve from CTS; see if you can find them in the pictures below with their Amazon boxes!

Our next planting will happen in May. For now, we will be preparing the garden for the winter by cutting down the spent plants and laying straw over the beds. Keep an eye out for our work day posts!

What are Harvest Days? Harvest days are when community members can come and collect produce from the garden. This summer, Grace decided that the produce would be given out for free. Our focus this summer at Newroz has been to increase visibility and community engagement. So far, so good! If your photo was taken and you choose to share it on social media, please give us a shout out at @asfgarden!
