Scotty Faire

(Picture above, from left to right: Elysia, Narah, Eimi). Every year at the beginning of the semester, Gordon has what's called "Scotty Faire": a fair where students can walk around and stop by different club tables. As Grace did last year, I shared the table with two ASF (Advocates for a Sustainable Future) leaders Eimi and Elysia. For some readers that may not know, the garden is the community outreach project of the ASF; it is the organization that initiated and supported our endeavors to bring the garden to life.

As the new director, this was an exciting opportunity for me to experience what the fair is all about-- engaging the student body in the things they are passionate about.

Many students stopped by expressing their interest in sustainability and our community garden. My mom also baked some delicious muffins from zucchini and squash from the garden, which inevitably drew more people in. We even received multiple comments about how we were the only table with an electronic sign-up (sustainability in action!).

Director of ASF Eimi and assistant director Elysia were tireless and overjoyed to relay information about the organization. It was a personal joy to represent ASF with them today. I'm elated to continue working with ASF this year to bring about new, exciting projects and raise awareness for sustainability!
